Billerica, MA – June 17, 2025 – Sheaumann Laser announces the release of a new 15XXnm laser diode designed to meet the demands of high-performance optical systems operating in the C-Band (1530–1570 nm). This product marks Sheaumann’s strategic expansion of the over 30 Near IR and Mid-IR wavelengths offered into the critical eye-safe portion of the spectrum, widely used in fiber-optic communications, LIDAR, and sensing applications.

The 15XXnm laser is available in both single-mode and multi-mode configurations and is initially available today in either a compact submount or an industry standard C-mount, both of which allow maximum flexibility for engineering development. Diodes packaged in hermetically-sealed butterfly or TO-Can packages may also be ordered.  These packaged diodes include an integrated monitor photodiode enabling real-time power feedback and control, making them ideal for precision systems requiring stability and eye-safe operation. Other package styles can also be provided.

The laser is designed and manufactured in Sheaumann’s ITAR registered, ISO 9001:2015 certified, vertically integrated foundry. This ensures Sheaumann’s full control over epitaxial growth, chip fabrication, assembly, and testing.
